The stately Kress building at 1106 Noble Street is Anniston’s finest example of 1920’s and ’30’s Art Deco architecture.  The structure was built by the S. H. Kress Company in 1935 with the intention of being a ‘jewel’ among buildings on Noble Street.  Most will remember the building as a loved store that they shopped in as a child and later as a discount store after Kress had closed. Today, the Kress building houses one of the region’s most beautiful event venues, boasting eighteen-foot-high ceilings, dark rich wood floors and every inch of the original Art Deco moldings. The building’s interior has been lovingly restored to its original beauty and grandeur while capturing all the luxuries of modern convenience. The grand ballroom most certainly lends itself to a gorgeous formal affair but can also accommodate any casual event. Your guests will be wowed by the grandness but also inspired by our uniqueness as the nostalgic front street entrance of our building is still styled and appears as a 1940’s storefront which is part of the allure of The Kress.  The Kress will be open and is now booking for Spring 2023.
